Welcome Letter
Hello!
Welcome or welcome back to the plant walks. We are definitely in the full flush of Beautiful Green! For this release we have travelled to Northfield Minnesota to highlight garden plants. I am notoriously a bad gardener, thus my emphasis on weeds that will grow, no matter what. But a former student of my year-long program Three Seasons of Herbal Wisdom, LuAnn Raadt, being a great gardener, decided to develop a U-Pick Medicinal Garden right in the middle of a beautiful CSA farm, Open Hands. Because of her gardening ability and generosity, that is where I harvest the cultivated medicinal plants I use in my practice. And honestly, if this garden didn't exist, I likely wouldn't harvest and use garden plants. Quite a statement, but true.
With plants in their fullness, we are focusing on the signatures to understand the uses of plants, real cases from practice, and which parts of the plants to harvest and when (with some tincture and medicinal oil preparations sprinkled in for good measure).
Plants are moving fast everywhere you look, above and below and to either side. Make sure you keep on going for walks. So much to see and touch and smell and...taste!
For those of you new to the plant walks, always remember, you can tap on the comment box and ask a question or leave a comment. I always appreciate hearing what you think and if you have any suggestions to improve the experience.
The material is laid out in the order it was recorded, rather than alphabetizing the material. The material builds on itself, so makes more sense this way. And, quite honestly, that is more realistic, as you walk around in the world. It I mention someone named "Matt," it is Matthew Wood.
And remember, you do have access to ALL the plant walk series with your subscription, if you would like to watch the lessons that were released before you joined.
Let's go for a walk!
Lise
